Why is it important?

ProtAnt is one of the first standalone, user-friendly, cross-platform, freeware tools that can automatically identify and rank texts in terms of their prototypicality.

Perspectives

The development of this tool serves as an important example of what can be achieved when a software developer and corpus (discourse) analyst work together to overcome a particular challenge in an interdisciplinary field like corpus linguistics.
