Aloe vera gel was extracted from the leaf and used to coat tomato fruits after which the fruits were stored at room temperature. quality parameters were evaluated during the storage period.

Why is it important?
This is important because chemicals used in tomato preservation are toxic to humans and the environment hence the need for plant based derivatives, which are non toxic for fruit preservation.
