What is it about?

First of all, this paper presents various factors which can explain the diffusion of trucks. Follow-ing this, the rise of truck logistics is put in the context of a mass consumption society. The next part reveals the important terms of German railway logistics, and presents its limits which gave rise to truck logistics due to vercrowed railway terminals. This has, so far, not been found in literature. The term logistics means, in this context, the basic functions of transportation, of transshipment and storage of goods, as well as the intelligent control and supervision of these operations in order to guarantee profitability and quality of operations.
