Why is it important?

The paper addresses one of the gaps in the transportation literature by exploring determinants influencing the delivery of quality bus services on students in Sunyani Municipality’s primary and junior high (middle) schools which typified the largest school catchment areas at the regional level.

Perspectives

The study outcomes could help in schools’ commute safety policy either by fashioning novel regulations to guide operations of school buses in the city or through fortifying the current ones. Our recommendations based on outcomes and universal accepted procedures to schools’ leadership offer transportation providers and municipal authorities avenues to provide well-organised, potent, and safe transport services to students in private schools. Furthermore, the current study provides a comprehensive analysis of findings and draws objective conclusions for further studies on quality bus service deliveries in other sectors such as public schools. As effectual child’s school transport and safety of emerging cities in the Global South have received little attention in international research and policy.
