What is it about?

Grey zone activities—actions that fall between peace and war—are becoming more common and pose a serious threat to stability in the Indo-Pacific, Australia’s main area of military interest. Australia’s 2024 National Defence Strategy responds by shifting the Defence Force toward a more focused and integrated approach, giving the Army an opportunity to play a key role in countering these threats across multiple domains, not just on land.
