What is it about?

Developing Corrosion Resistance Nano Copper Oxide Coating on Copper Using Hard Anodization in Oxalate Solution. it develops a new corrosion protection method for copper in aggressive environments. The contamination of copper could be reduced by improving copper corrosion resistance in the water. This research studies the development of copper corrosion resistance by using the anodization technique.

Why is it important?

This research presents a new way to solve copper corrosion, which is considered one of the serious industrial problems. its outputs were as follows; 1-Characterization results referred to the formation of copper oxide anodized coating with grain size ranging from 25 to 68 nm. The results show 2- Enhancement of corrosion resistance of anodized samples. 3- The corrosion protection efficiencies for the anodized coating increased by 86.2% and 74.5% in testing solutions containing 3.5% NaCl, and 2 mg/l NH3, respectively.

Perspectives

Solve industrial problems caused by copper corrosion which leads to copper contamination in water circulation systems.
