Dynamic J-R Curve Estimation for Leak Before Break Design of Nuclear Piping System

What is it about?

The leak before break design applied to nuclear piping system has been based on the premise that the piping break accident can be prevented by detecting leakage inside through-wall crack by leak detection device. To meet such a LBB design concept, the nuclear piping material should have excellent fracture toughness. In this paper, the measurement method for reliable dynamic J-R curve as one of fracture toughness for integrity evalaution of nuclear piping system is proposed and discussed.
