What is it about?
This book chapter narrates about a person, named Emma, who was born as a girl into a nice American family. Soon, Emma developed as a non-binary personality; this means, this child felt not fitting into the traditional female or male genders. Starting of the junior high school, Emma was bullied for this reason. The school administration and teachers were aware of the fierce mobbing of one child by nearly all their students but chose to not interfere.

Why is it important?
Bullying and mobbing may occur in any academic setting. The victims either suffer or escape via a suicide. It is important to prevent or stop bullying in academe.
Perspectives
Emma's life story was a torturous survival without protection. After having published my chapter, I had to regain my stamina to be able to re-read this impactful writing. Yet, in a joint effort, researchers, educators, and law- and policy-makers need to act to stop bullying.
