What is it about?
The focus of lexicography going forward will be on satisfying the information needs of users. Depending on the situation in which people consult lexicographic tools deternine the way in which lexicographers can best satisfy unser needs.

Why is it important?
The paper discusses some of the ways in which dictionaries can be futureproof. Realising that a dictionary is not just a dictionaries opens up for new ways in which dictionaries can help users solve their needs for information, not only in connection with the data dictionaries contain but also the ways in which the data can be presented to users.
Perspectives
This paper got me thinking how electronic means can be used for future projects on dictionaries and other information tools. This approach seems to be well suited for providing the help users are looking for in various ways adapted to a specif user or type of user.
