Why is it important?
The Singapore National Employer's Federation(SNEF) is of primary focus as it is the only trade union party that includes the advance of 'tripartism' in its mission statement. The article studies SNEF and found that it is the uniqueness of the role and functions of the SNEF in the tripartite partnership that characterises and legitimises Singapore's corporatist industrial relations. Tripartism is seen to be an unsung hero of Singapore's development, with a prominent role in Singapore's economic, social and developmental strategies, with the government also endorsing the tripartite endeavour. Knowing that Tripartism is so important, what is the future for Tripartism and how do we maintain a positive influence of this practice in years to come?
