What is it about?
This book chapters describes the establishment of a certification procedure to assure the quality of language use and teaching in EMI settings. It briefly gives the procedure institutional context, lays out the thought-process behind choosing quality criteria, and provides examples of the criteria in use from both an assessor and student perspective.

Why is it important?
We feel this work can be further developed in other contexts and with additional and/or adapted quality criteria in order to validate criteria in the long-term. Doing so can help standarize the quality assessment of linguistic and communicative competencies of teachers in EMI settings.
