What is it about?
Salmonella serovar I 4,[5], 12:i:- has been frequently isolated from pork, and has been responsible for several foodborne disease outbreaks. This manuscript reports on the impact of commonly used interventions in the pork industry on this serovar in comparison to other commonly documented serovars. The research demonstrates that Salmonella serovar I 4,[5], 12:i:- is not more resistant to interventions, and that it has a comparable heat resistance as other Salmonella serovars.
