What is it about?

Downregulation of the expression of a regulatory protein or transcription factor, called DST (drought and salt tolerance transcription factor) using artificial microRNA

Featured Image

Why is it important?

When plants fight stress, there is usually a yield penalty. Down-regulating this gene produced tolerance without compromising yield. The results are for seedling stage-reproductive phase is in progress.

Perspectives

The downregulated plants are very sturdy and can be recognised immediately
