What is it about?

This paper describes the repositioning of known drugs using computational methods. We used ligand and sctructure based virtual screening approaches. This furnished us the identification of 7 drugs approved for other therapies which could have potential to also treat COVID-19.

Why is it important?

Finding drug-based therapies to treat COVID-19 would increase the success of preventing symptoms, reduce the number of deaths, and combating this pandemic that represents a global health issue.

Perspectives

I hope that the drugs revealed in this paper are soon to be effective in experimental assays which are ongoing. Also that the findings presented here produce a significant impact in drug design subjects, as well as related science fields, which has been striving to aid the world from this harmful pandemic.
