What is it about?

The paper present the manufacturing process of coating materials for brazing rods obtained by melting in a controlled environment. The friable precursors are integrated in the coating of the rods, as powder mixtures. The precursors alloys have a benefic effect on the melting and protecting of melted metal resulted from the the coated rods for brazing.

Why is it important?

The processes for manufacturing the active precursors are part of a new generation of clean technologies in the metallurgical industry.

Perspectives

The two alloys from Cu-P-Si system are grinded as powders, to be compatible with extrusion manufacturing of coated rods used for brazing. These alloys are made from cast briquettes, with amorphous structure and good grinding ability. The role of this materials is to refine the crystalline grains and improve the wettability of the brazing melted alloys.
