URI and Ruby Roy Dholakia: Long Tradition of Tech/Markets/Consumption research
History of work such as these... Starting from the mid-1980s, a strong, varied and insightful stream of research has developed under the direction of Professor Ruby Roy Dholakia at the University of Rhode Island (URI), examining multiple aspects of Telecom, E-Commerce, M-Commerce, Social Media, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Smart Homes, Internet of Things, and many related aspects of technology-induced changes in markets and consumer behaviors.
Dual Insights into Electronic Retailing: Dr. Ruby Roy Dholakia
While the literature on retailing and electronic commerce (including ‘e-tailing’) is vast, there are very few places where one can find insights into retailing phenomena from both consumer behavior and retail/brand strategy angles. Research by Ruby Roy Dholakia in retailing and e-commerce does achieve insightful integration of both these perspectives.
