What is it about?

The study aimed to determine antioxidant capacity, phenol, vitamin, sugar, ascorbic acid content and some pomological characteristics of Citrus Species (Citrus reticulata, Citrus sinensis and Citrus paradisi) ) and Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) hybrids grown in Mersin region, Turkey. This study provides supporting evidence for the superiority of Cocktail fruit as an excellent source of antioxidant capacities.

Why is it important?

The study aimed to determine antioxidant capacity, phenol, sugar, vitamin C (ascorbic acid) content and some pomological characteristics citrus species and mandarin hybrids grown in Mersin region, Turkey. These parameters are important for the determination of quality of citrus fruits.

Perspectives

This study is considered to be a valuable reference for forthcoming studies on morphological and biochemical characteristics of the mandarin hybrids to find the most favorable one to introduce it into for bring them commercial production
