Why is it important?

In recent years, the increasing demand and the high prices of fishmeal has caused increases in the price of formulated feed, making necessary to continue with the evaluation of alternative protein sources.

Perspectives

The biofloc produced in aquaculture, with an appropriate processing, can be used as a high quality ingredient for animal diets and other biotechnological purposes.
