What is it about?

Sight-singing is an activity present in the practice of professional and amateur musicians, especially when they belong to choral ensembles. In the educational field, even though it is generally regarded as a means of evaluating reading, the importance of influencing on their learning is also perceived. This work aims to present and analyze the main elements inherent to this activity in the teaching of music theory in professional music conservatories. To this end, the observations made by 14 professionals in the validation process of a questionnaire for this purpose were analyzed. The results highlight the relevance of its timing, the characteristics of its preparation, the modalities that are usually practiced, the most frequent methodological components and the repertoire that can be chosen.
