What is it about?
In our post-truth media era, each society needs to base its public policy on evidence-based reasoning. Science provides the gold standard for evidence-based reasoning. In the name of truth, religious communities should support scientists and even skeptics.

Why is it important?
Global culture is suffering from a truth crisis. Social media has engulfed us with misinformation, disinformation, false facts, deep fake photos, and vile insults. The thesis of this article is this: religious communities and rational theologians should ally with scientists and skeptics in an attempt to reestablish evidence-based reasoning as the medium of global public discourse. The method of this article along with that of public theology itself relies on two tasks: discourse clarification and worldview construction.
Perspectives
Even though many scientists and skeptics dismiss religion, in this period of global kerfuffle over truth, perhaps theologians can provide support for evidence-based reasoning on behalf of the common good.
