What is it about?

Weather forecasts of precipitation at high resolution is a more and more demanding task. In this work, we have shown the recent progress in this field using a numerical model over Central and Southern Europe

Why is it important?

Our findings show that a remarkable improvement of probabilistic precipitation forecasts has taken place in the last years, thanks to model improvements as well as to a more and more refined strategy in describing atmospheric uncertainties.

Perspectives

We hope this paper makes people realize the efforts which are behind the daily generation of weather forecasts.
