What is it about?

Chinese young adults are among the first to use mHealth and will help their elderly relatives to embrace mHealth. Yet, what motivates them to use mHealth has yet to be thoroughly explored and empirically validated. This paper examines the factors influencing Chinese young adults' intention to use mHealth.

Why is it important?

There are over 460 million mHealth users in China. The findings of the study show that communication effectiveness is the most significant factor that affects people's intention to use mHealth, followed by health consciousness.

Perspectives

mHealth is one of China's national strategies that brings affordable, accessible, and convenient health care to its population. It is our hope to stimulate other people to study and revisit mHealth-related issues in China regularly. We will look into the development and adoption of mHealth technologies and write more mHealth articles in the near future.
