What is it about?

This paper investigates the use of an EEG signal to classify a subject’s stress level while using virtual reality. For this purpose, we designed an acquisition protocol based on alternating relaxing and stressful scenes in the form of a VR interactive simulation, accompanied by an EEG headset to monitor the psycho-physical condition.

Why is it important?

This study has validated that the proposed methods are able to differentiate between relax and stress state which is potential for the development of stress detection systems. At the same time, the study confirmed the great potential of solutions based on virtual reality and machine learning.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also leaded to new ideas for the use of virtual reality.
