What is it about?

The paper presents a set of innovative pedagogical approaches that have the potential to guide teaching and transform learning. We propose several key criteria for selection of pedagogies and their evaluation.

Why is it important?

Our framework goes beyond existing frameworks that focus primarily on the development of skills and competences for the future, by situating such development within the context of effective educational theories, evidence from research studies, innovative aspects of the pedagogy, and its adoption in educational practice.

Perspectives

Working collaboratively on this paper enabled us to develop a rigorous and novel approach to the selection and evaluation of emerging pedagogical innovations. The resulting framework can be used by other researchers and educators.
