What is it about?
Blockchain networks need a reliable way for many independent participants to agree on which transactions are valid. This research introduces 3RVAV, a new consensus protocol that combines Proof-of-Stake with three rounds of voting by randomly selected committees. Different participants take different roles, helping distribute decision-making while making it harder for attackers to manipulate the network. The protocol also introduces penalties for dishonest behavior. In simulations, 3RVAV processed up to 3,247 transactions per second with transaction finality of around 4 seconds, while maintaining strong Byzantine fault tolerance and resistance to Sybil attacks.

Why is it important?
Blockchain systems often face a difficult trade-off between speed, security, and decentralization. Improving one can weaken another. 3RVAV was designed to address these challenges together by combining randomized committee selection, multi-round validation, economic incentives, and penalties for malicious behavior. The results suggest that blockchain networks could achieve faster transaction confirmation while maintaining strong security and distributed participation. This could be valuable for blockchain applications that require both high performance and trustworthy consensus, including financial systems, digital services, decentralized applications, and other large-scale Web3 infrastructures.
Perspectives
I developed 3RVAV around a question that continues to challenge blockchain research: Can we make consensus faster and more scalable without sacrificing security or meaningful decentralization? Rather than relying on a single voting stage or participant group, 3RVAV distributes validation across three randomized voting rounds and combines technical security with economic incentives for honest behavior. What I find particularly important is that consensus is not only a technical problem. It is also a question of participant behavior, incentives, accountability, and trust. The work therefore combines protocol design, security analysis, performance evaluation, and game-theoretic reasoning. I hope this research contributes to the development of blockchain systems that are not only faster, but also more resilient, accountable, and practical for real-world use.
