This research is important because it addresses a critical and persistent global challenge: counterfeiting, which causes billions in economic losses, undermines consumer trust, and endangers lives—especially in sectors like pharmaceuticals, electronics, and automotive. Key Reasons for Importance: Conventional methods are failing: Holograms, barcodes, and serial numbers are increasingly easy to replicate, and do not provide real-time, tamper-proof verification. NFC + Blockchain integration is novel: The platform combines Near Field Communication (NFC) for dynamic, real-time product authentication with blockchain's immutable ledger, offering a secure, decentralized system. Empowers consumers: Consumers can verify a product’s authenticity instantly using smartphones, which shifts verification power to the point of sale or use. Cross-industry relevance: The system is applicable to multiple industries, including luxury goods, healthcare, electronics, and supply chains, making its potential impact broad and scalable. Demonstrated effectiveness: Real-world testing across sectors showed a significant reduction in counterfeit products, confirming its practical value. In essence, this research offers a technologically robust, scalable, and consumer-accessible solution to one of the most damaging forms of global fraud—making it a significant advancement in supply chain integrity and product authentication.
