What is it about?

Who is responsible for validating the methodologies of SDG indicators? Who is mandated to validate SDG data and under what conditions? What is the designated procedure for validating SDG data? The answers to these questions may seem obvious or trivial, but the opposite is in fact true. This paper takes you behind the scenes of some of the major statistical processes of our time, uncovering large swathes of grey zones in the existing regulatory framework that behove the international statistical community to take more concrete action to address.
