What is it about?

National Accounts (macro perspective) and households' budgets surveys (micro perspective) have developed separately over the years, sometimes leading to uncoherent information on the same phenomena. The paper discusses which methods could be used to bridge the two perspectives and build the accounting of groups of households within the National Accounts conceptual framework.

Why is it important?

National accounts and surveys on households budgets have both strong points and limits. The development of households sub-sectors accounts would represent a bridge improving our knowledge of households economic behaviour.

Perspectives

I hope this article would improve the knowledge of National Accounts, as well as their further development.
