What is it about?
This is a summary of a research article about a rare case of tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) in a newborn baby. TLS is a complication of cancer treatment that can cause electrolyte abnormalities. The newborn baby also had transient abnormal myelopoiesis, a blood disorder, and heart failure. Doctors were unable to give the usual treatment for TLS because of the newborn baby's heart failure. The newborn baby recovered with careful balancing of both conditions.
