What is it about?
Iopromide is an iodinated contrast medium for X-ray imaging. It is a low osmolar, non-ionic contrast agent for intravascular use; i.e., it is injected into blood vessels. The research focused on the safety profile of iopromide used to perform Computed Tomography Scan.

Why is it important?
We characterised the safety profile of iopromide, evaluating 7 years of data, in a population to which this contrast medium was administered to perform computed tomography scans, evaluating adverse events and interventions on these events. This highlighted the safety of iopromide.
Perspectives
The increase in drugs consumption, that is occurring globally, poses a challenge for professionals and patients. Medicines safety is a vital area of research to lower the risk of drugs. This paper intends to add relevant information on the use of iopromide related to the increase in computed tomography scans.
