What is it about?

Lymphatic malformations are rare congenital anomalies of the lymphatic system that can be diagnosed prenatally. Although they represent benign conditions, depending on their location and size they can have a significant impact on the life of the affected individual, both functionally and cosmetically. Being rare malformations, data available in the literature regarding the most appropriate therapy are not uniform. Such heterogeneity complicates the councelling that the physician expert in prenatal diagnosis can do to parents when diagnosing these fetal malformations. Our paper brings together the experience gained in our Center as well as a review of the literature, with the aim of making prenatal councelling more up-to-date and comprehensive.
