What is it about?

Social norms are often modeled using quantitative tools, such as those from game theory or agent-based or computational modeling. Others use qualitative tools, such as discourse analysis. This article maps out a synergistic analysis of social norms using both kinds of tools.

Why is it important?

There's a tendency for quantitative folks to look only at publications using quantitative methods and for qualitative folks to only look at those using qualitative methods. This article shows how they can be fruitfully brought together.
