Not everyone is equally likely to access low vision rehabilitation services

What is it about?

This study examined which factors might be linked to accessing low vision rehabilitation services in the Montreal region. Black patients, those whose first language was French, and those with less severe visual acuity loss were less likely to know about low-vision services.

Why is it important?

Our results indicated that we need to increase our efforts in educating the general public about the existence and possible functional benefits of low vision rehabilitation, in order to increase a more equitable access to and more interest in these services.
