What is it about?

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of continuous ultrasound compared with placebo ultrasound combined with conventional physiotherapy program for patients with cervical spondylosis.

Why is it important?

During treatment of neck pain there were improvements in pain severity, range of motion [ROM] and neck pain disability index scores both in phonophoresis and ultrasound therapy groups. However, there is a lack of studies on the efficacy of continuous ultrasound in cervical spondylosis.

Perspectives

This study filled the gap of knowledge regarding the efficacy of addition of ultrasound to the conventional physical therapy treatment of cervical spondylosis.
