Why is it important?

All too often in current organisational and funding processes, the initial steps of exploring unmet needs are rushed in order to commence work on solution building. This can lead to development of solutions which are only partially fit for purpose, wasting public resource and frustrating patient and public collaboration. We suggest a model (developed and used by NIHR Devices for Dignity MTC) of unmet need processing which we feel is fundamental to successful med tech development.
