What is it about?

The purpose of this study is to examine airline companies’ performance before and after the global financial crisis through multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods using airline-specific indicators. In this context, the performance of 13 airlines in 2005-2012 period is examined. The CRITIC method was used to determine the importance levels of the criteria, and the EDAS method was used to rank airlines according to their performance. Findings from the study show that airline companies were affected by the global financial crisis, even in the post-crisis years (2010-2012). The findings also show that the adverse effects of the financial crisis were felt most in 2010 for airline companies.
