What is it about?
Compliance inspection is essential to ensure the quality of the ready-mixed concrete (RMC) supply chain. However, the current RMC compliance inspection is a labor-intensive and time-consuming manual task and lacks efficiency and transparency. This paper proposes a blockchain-based platform to cope with these challenges. Besides, an auto-generation method of smart contract for RMC compliance inspection based on ontology is proposed to reduce the barrier to utilizing blockchain. The framework design and information interaction flow are then demonstrated in detail. Furthermore, the performance of the platform in actual projects is evaluated using a case study. The results indicate that the proposed platform can improve the efficiency, transparency, and traceability of the RMC compliance inspection and facilitate the further applications of blockchain in the construction sector.

Why is it important?
the scientific contribution of this study lies in the blockchain-based platform for the automatic compliance inspection of RMC supply chain quality management and the auto-generation method of smart contract based on semantic rules. Specifically, this study details the framework design of the proposed platform and the information interaction flow among different participants of the platform. Furthermore, an auto-generation method of smart contract for RMC compliance inspection is proposed to facilitate the development and deployment of smart contract. Finally, a case study is conducted to verify the application of the platform in actual construction projects. This study fills the research gap in the validation of the correctness of on-chain data and facilitates the further applications of blockchain in construction sectors.
