What is it about?

We look at an alternative to Jet A fueled medium range airliners by examining SAF and LH2 fueled designs. We conclude that LH2 is both more environmental friendly and more economic. We provide candidate enabling technologies and a Systems Engineering plan for their maturation.

Why is it important?

Aviation causes 5% of the global warming of all anthropogenic activities and is one of the hardest to decarbonize. Zero Emission Aviation by 2050 is required to mert the IPCC goal of less than 2 degrees C of warming.

Perspectives

Global warming is the great challenge if our time. Systematic and science-based approaches are required to successfully meet this challenge.
