What is it about?

This study focuses on MD30P30N high-lift airfoil model aeroacoustic and aerodynamic measurements in a closed-section wind-tunnel for a wide range of angles of attack and Mach numbers between 0.07 to 0.1.

Why is it important?

The results show all slat noise components are strongly affected by wing angle of attack. The low-frequency tones vanish at lower negative wing angles of attack but reach their higher level at lower positive angles of attack.

Perspectives

This conference paper is a first attempt to analyze ourdatabase on slat noise for a wide range of angles of attack. Consolidated results were further published in AIAA J., doi: 10.2514/1.J056113.
