What is it about?
This paper refers to an aeroacoustic experimental study of a slat containing a two dimensional protrusion installed at its cove wall, representing a sealing device. Four different seal positions were tested.

Why is it important?
The main results evidenced that the presence of a seal at slat cove has a huge impact at its acoustic frequency spectrum components. Depending on the sealing device position, it could attenuate or intensify the low frequency tonal peaks.
Perspectives
This conference paper was the first attempt to analyze our database on sealing devices installed on the slat cove wall. Consolidated results were further published at the AIAA J.
