What is it about?

This manuscript explore the use of leading edge protuberances to improve rotor blade aerodynamic performance. The effect of different protuberance shapes were tested using computational aerodynamic methods. Improvements in blade thrust capability and reduction in power required were found for specific shapes. The improvement arises from the protuberances ability to improve flow behaviour over the blade.
