A New Experimental Facility for Characterizing Bladed Disk Dynamics at Design Speed

What is it about?

This work describes a new facility that has been developed to understand the the vibratory properties of bladed disks found in gas turbines. Sample results from the facility are also provided to demonstrate how it can be used to understand the effects of damping and manufacturing differences between blades referred to as mistuning.
