What is it about?
We applied plasma streamwise vortex generators (PSVGs) and a traditional dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuator to control wake fluctuations behind a bluff body. This topic has significant applications in mechanical and aerospace engineering. Experimental results showed that PSVGs can significantly suppress the flow separation over the bluff body, and have good control performance on the reduction of the recirculation bubble sizes and the Karman vortex shedding frequency in the wake at low speed.
