Shape Adjustment of Flexible Rib for Large Deployable Reflector

What is it about?

The surface of large deployable reflectors has to be carefully adjusted to achieve the required accuracy, which is an effective way to compensate for manufacturing and assembly errors or other imperfections. We propose a method of shape adjustment of flexible rib for large deployable reflector. We combine finite element method with genetic algorithm for shape adjustment. We present a reverse reconstruction method based on interpolation to obtain the accurate mode of rib.
