What is it about?
This paper proposes a guidance system for intercepting non-maneuvering targets, ensuring the interceptor stays within the seeker's field-of-view (FOV) limits at given impact angle and impact time. Using a predicted-interception-point (PIP) and polynomial shaping, it calculates the necessary line-of-sight angles for accurate interception. A tracking controller is designed to follow these angles, ensuring interception at the right time and angle. Simulations show the method outperforms existing strategies.
