What is it about?

Hybrid-electric propulsion can reduce the cost and environmental impact of aircraft. This article presents a method which can be used to estimate the weight, wing area, and installed power of aircraft using hybrid-electric propulsion. Furthermore, in order to provide an example, a hybrid-electric aircraft is sized with this method, and compared to a conventional aircraft. The example shows that the method can be used to quickly evaluate and compare different hybrid-electric aircraft.
