What is it about?

A technique to solve the problem of flying at supersonic/hypersonic speeds due to the interaction shock wave and boundary layer. Its the passive boundary layer bleeding to mitigate the flow separation. The device named "Diveterter" has been designed, experimented and proved to be mitigating SBLI.

Why is it important?

Flying at hypersonic speeds is the key to our futuristic space exploration and various space programs. Instead of rocket launch vehicles, a scramjet engine could fly in and out of the atmosphere with much more ease.
