What is it about?
This research is based on determining the toxic metals found in the locally produced drinks and calculating the carcinogenic and non carcinogenic human health risk assessment of the drinks. The toxic metal Concentrations were compared with WHO permissible limits and their carcinogenic and non carcinogenic risks were calculated.

The research is significant in human health safety assessments in consuming the locally produced drinks.
Perspectives
The local production of various beverages in Nigeria is at increase. Most of these production companies are not registered with regulatory bodies thereby, making these products not approved. Hence, consumers of these beverages are at risk of heavy metal poisoning because of the high metal contents which may results to the development of Cancer.
