What is it about?

This is the introductory article for the inaugural issue of the journal "Markets, Globalization & Development Review" (MGDR). It lays out the background and goals of this new journal.

Why is it important?

The journal MGDR is an international peer reviewed and open access online journal exploring the intersections and interstices of markets, globalization and development from interdisciplinary lenses. With this introductory piece, the authors set the tone for the types of contributions this journal expects.

Perspectives

Although MGDR is relatively new, the parent organization "International Society of Markets & Development" has almost a 3-decades-long history. The journal will help cement the legacy of this innovative and interdisciplinary group of scholars.
