Why is it important?

It provides an invaluable resource for accounting (and other) educators interested in measuring or assessing students' approaches to learning. Approaches to learning are usually characterised by deep, surface and strategic approaches.

Perspectives

I wrote the paper to access a US market fro approaches to learning research. Learning styles (a la Kolb) have been more prevalent in North America. I think US accounting educators are missing a trick.
